Eligibility

Who may submit

Abstract submission is open to all consultants, residents- and fellows-in-training from POGS-accredited institutions. Finalists (non-winners) of the POGS Midyear Research and Interesting Case Contests may submit their abstract if their paper has not been published yet.

Residents and fellows should submit a certification of their affiliation in a POGS-accredited institution. There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author may submit.

Format

Abstract specifications

Title — limited to 25 words. Authors — indicate the presenting author. Institution — only indicated in the form, not within the text. Text — limited to 250 words, following the structure prescribed for your category.

Incomplete abstracts, or abstracts stating “data will be discussed in the presentation,” will not be accepted.

Requirements

All submitted abstracts

  • Must be an original work.
  • Should not be more than five years from completion.
  • Should not have been previously published.
  • Must be in the final form.
  • Must follow the prescribed format and specifications.
  • Should not include the name of institution of the author within the text, tables, or figures.
  • Content cannot be modified or corrected in any way after final submission.
  • Once accepted, the 40 abstracts should be prepared for poster display and presentation, and these will also be published in the Book of Abstracts.

Submission acknowledges the author's acceptance for the abstract, after passing the screening process, to be published in the Book of Abstracts. The abstract will be published exactly as submitted.

Poster Display & Presentation

40 abstracts, four categories

The poster display and presentation will include 40 abstracts screened and accepted by the members of the Subcommittee on Scientific Work Abstracts, subdivided into 10 per category. For each category, the top 3 poster presentations will be awarded first, second, and third place.

How to Submit

Deadlines and contact details

  • Abstracts may be submitted through email pogs.scientificabstracts@gmail.com. A confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge receipt of the submitted abstract.
  • Deadline for submission is on August 14, 2026.
  • Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must be registered in the Annual Convention. The registration must be received by the organizers by September 30, 2026 to ensure inclusion of the abstracts in the Scientific Program, Hall of Abstracts, and Book of Abstracts.
